Maxi Cab Shuttles – by Maxi Adventures Ltd.
Maxi Adventures was established in late 2018. Previously it was known as Maxi Cab Shuttles which operated in the area for a number of years. We focus on customised transport solutions, which means pick up / drop off locations and timings are up to you. There is no strict schedule to be bound by. Most of our service is provided for mountain bikers and hikers, however we also do general passenger transport when required. Our drivers are based in Takaka and Nelson, often available at short notice.
We currently have 2x Ford Transit work horses, one is a 12 seater, the other is a 15 seater. We have a 3-4 MTB rack for smaller trips, or a brand new, custom designed 10 MTB trailer for the bigger groups. For larger groups of tramping enthusiasts we have a luggage trailer to carry your packs. All our drivers are commercially endorsed tourism drivers, whose main priorities are your safety and convenience. They will do their best to stop at special locations or go the extra mile for you, just ask.
Dave is the director of the company. He has a Civil Engineering background. His interests outside of work are music, motorcycles, recreational aviation, and water sports. Dave came to NZ in 2000, and has now settled in the beautiful Nelson Tasman Marlborough region.
Amy is the co-director of the company. Amy has an Aircraft Engineering background, focusing on avionics. Outside of work she also spends a lot of time on motorcycles, plays piano, guitar, loves hiking, diving and kayaking (what an awesome place to be for it). Born and bred in Westport, she definitely knows the area well and will often join our customers on long tramps!
Lyla is one of our drivers. She has a hiking tourist guide background, and definitely knows the tracks and topography of the area like the back of her hand. Her cheerful demeanour and passion for tourism will be sure to make your experience second to none.
Sage is your driver in Golden Bay for Maxi Adventures. She loves driving, loves people and is looking forward to taking you to your destination in the beautiful top-left of the South Island. Sage has worked in community and national radio, had a family circus, is an artist and recently took up zen meditation and mountain biking – but is yet to do the Heaphy!
